Planting zooms ahead with dry weather

(Radio Iowa) – Iowa farmers took advantage of dry weather this past week to get a lot of planting done. The U-S-D-A report shows soybean planting more than double last week, reaching 27 percent, compared to eleven percent the previous week.

Soybean planting is nine percent behind what had been planted at this time in 2025. The amount of corn planted was just short of doubling what was in the ground last week, going from 22 to 42 percent.

Corn planting is now five percent behind last year.
