(Radio Iowa) – Another dry week helped farmers push planting closer to completion. The U-S-D-A report shows 94 percent of the corn crop was in the ground by Sunday. That puts the planting right were it was last year at this time. The amount of corn that’s emerged went from 46 to 72 percent.
Soybean planting hit the 90 percent mark, up ten percent from last week and just one percent behind last year. The report shows 57 percent of soybeans have emerged, up from 28 percent last week.
