(Radio Iowa) – Iowa farmers close to finishing up planting. The weekly U-S-D-A report shows 97 percent of corn is planted, right on the mark with last year. It says 87 percent of the corn planted has emerged, which is slightly ahead of last year.
Eighty-two percent of the corn is reported in good to excellent condition. Ninety-five percent of the soybeans are in the ground, with 74 percent already emerging.
The report finds 79 percent of soybeans are in good to excellent condition.
