The National Weather Service says a major storm is expected to develop over the Central US this week and bring rounds of showers and scattered thunderstorms to Iowa from Wednesday night into Friday morning. Thursday and Friday will see periods of rain with up to another inch and a quarter in some areas with general amounts of a quarter to an inch. No major impacts are expected, but wet fields and slowing field work may result in some areas once again. Much colder conditions are expected Friday night and Saturday following the rain.
