LESTER SCHMITZ, 92, of Harlan, died Thursday, Oct. 10th, at the Elm Crest Retirement Community. A Mass of Christian Burial for LESTER SCHMITZ will be held 10:30-a.m. Monday, Oct. 14th, at St. Mary/Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, in Portsmouth. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 13th, from 5-until 7-p.m., with a Wake service beginning at 7:30-p.m.

Burial is in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Portsmouth.

His sons Greg (Barbara) Schmitz, of Dallas, TX; Jim (Alicia) Schmitz, of Chagrin Falls, OH, and John (Kim) Schmitz, of Iowa City.

His daughter -Peg (Tim) Gaul, of Ames.

His sisters – Arlene Hodapp, of Eric, CO., and Sr. Lorraine Schmitz, of Greenfield, WI.
