At 620 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles east of Garland to 4 miles northwest of
Peru. Movement was northeast at 35 mph.

Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Lincoln, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, Waverly, Ashland, Syracuse,
Springfield, Louisville, Weeping Water, Bennet, Elmwood, Greenwood,
Palmyra, Murray, Cedar Creek, Unadilla, Avoca, Murdock, Talmage and
Union.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 29 between mile markers 10 and 29.
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 392 and 432.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
