Atlantic/CAM sends 6 grapplers on to Districts, fall just shy of Regional Duals

Trojan LogoSectional wrestling action was held for Classes 1A and 2A on Saturday. The Champions and Runners-Up in each weight class advance to District wrestling competition next Saturday. The Champion and Runner-Up team at each Sectional advance to Regional Team Duals on Tuesday.

The Atlantic/CAM wrestling team will send 6 wrestlers on to District competition after competing in the Ida Grove Sectional in 2A. The Trojans had three champions: Cale Roller (220), Chase McLaren (138), and Garrett McLaren (106). The Trojans also had three Runners-Up advance with Connor Pellett (152), Kadim Stutzman (145), and Joe Weaver (120). The Trojans ended up coming just shy of making it to the Regional Team Duals. Sergeant Bluff-Luton was the Champion with 234 points and Harlan edged out Atlantic/CAM 209 to 206.

Harlan had the following champions: Ethan Lemon at 126, Oscar Olmos at 145, Carter Bensdorf at 170, and Derec Weyer at 285. The Cyclones also had two runners-up: Wyatt Obrecht at 132 and Joseph Arkfeld at 220.

Kuemper Catholic finished with a couple runners-up with Benjamin Schmitz at 113 and Shea Parkis at 126.
