Winter Weather Advisory update 4-a.m. 2/11/2019

For Audubon-Guthrie-Cass-Adair-Adams-Union Taylor and Ringgold Counties: A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT TODAY FROM 9 AM UNTIL 6-PM CST TUESDAY.

* WHAT…Patchy freezing drizzle will become more widespread this morning then change over to snow from the Missouri border to the I-80 corridor towards noon and persist into Tuesday. Total snow accumulations by Tuesday morning of 2 to 4 inches and a light glaze of ice is expected. Winds gusting to 35 mph Tuesday producing patchy blowing snow and reduced visibility. Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

For Monona-Harrison-Shelby-Pottawattamie Mills-Montgomery-Fremont-Page Counties…A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6-AM TODAY (MONDAY) UNTIL 12-AM TUESDAY.

Mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with some 4 inch amounts in western Iowa. 3-5 inches are possible over the far southwest corner of the State. Ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are possible. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and especially the evening commute.
