CRESTON, Iowa – May 14, 2018 – A project to replace two bridges on Iowa 25 south of Interstate 80 (exit 86) in Adair County will require closing the roadway to traffic beginning Tuesday morning May 29, until late November 2018, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office.

The first bridge being replaced is over the Middle River, 1.2 miles south of I-80. The second bridge being replaced is over North Turkey Creek, 4.6 miles south of I-80.

During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone using Iowa 92, Adair County Road P-28, and I-80.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As always, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
