Here is the latest Mid-America sports news from The Associated Press

UNDATED (AP) — Nebraska’s 54-21 loss at Minnesota was its fourth in five games and left the Cornhuskers to ponder the possibility of finishing with their fewest wins since 1961. Calls from the fan base imploring new athletic director Bill Moos to make a coaching change are only growing louder. Sports columnists for the state’s two largest newspapers suggested that Moos fire Mike Riley immediately. Nebraska finishes the regular season at Penn State and at home against Iowa.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Newcomer Luke Garza led Iowa’s charge to a 92-58 victory over Alabama State, scoring 11 points to go with 13 rebounds. Though the freshman shot just 2 of 8 from the field, he added seven points from the free throw line on 11 attempts.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Hometown star Trae Young had 15 points and 10 assists in his college debut to help Oklahoma defeat Omaha 108-89. Jamuni McNeace had 14 points and a career-high six blocks and Christian James also scored 14 points for the Sooners.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Sabrina Ionescu had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for her fifth career triple-double, and No. 11 Oregon beat Drake 110-77 in the second round of the preseason WNIT. Ionescu, a sophomore, is just one away from the Pac-12 career record of six, set by Nicole Powell (Stanford, 2001-04) and two shy of the NCAA mark of seven by Suzie McConnell (Penn State, 1985-88) and Louella Tomlinson.
