The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of an accident between a truck and a road grader on Monday morning.  At 7:20am deputies were called to the accident at the 90 mile-marker of Highway 34.  After investigation it was determined that a White 2014 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 62-year-old Christo Randall of Ashland, NE was travelling eastbound on Highway 34 at the same time as a 1999 Catepillar 140H Grader driven by 58-year-old Robert Hepp of Cromwell.  The grader was traveling on the shoulder of the Highway until it approached a bridge and had to pull into the lane of traffic to enter the bridge.  Due to the glare of the sun Randall did not see the grader and struck it’s left rear tire.  The collision caused the truck to go airborne and land on it’s side on the bridge.

Hepp was not injured in the crash and Randall suffered possible injuries and was taken to the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston by EMS ambulance.  The truck sustained an estimated $10,000 damage and the grader an estimated $1,200 damage.
