Police in Council Bluffs are investigating a homicide that took place overnight. Authorities say at around 4:20-a.m. (Tuesday), Council Bluffs officers responded to a report of a man lying in the middle of Avenue B, just west of North 10^th Street.  Upon their arrival, officers found a deceased adult male.  A preliminary investigation indicates the man was the victim of a shooting.

Detectives and crime scene investigators were still in the process of collecting evidence and canvassing the neighborhood Tuesday, for witnesses.  The identity of the victim will not be released until his family is properly notified.
