TODAY AND TONIGHT: HOT AND HUMID WEATHER IS EXPECTED TODAY AS HEAT INDEX VALUES LOOK TO RISE INTO THE UPPER 90S TO NEAR 100 THIS AFTERNOON. A MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS IS FORECAST LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING OVER WESTERN TO NORTHERN IOWA. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS WITH LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.

SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT:  SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAYBE NEEDED AT TIMES LATE TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY: PERIODIC THUNDERSTORM CHANCES CONTINUE MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN AND ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE OVER SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF IOWA MONDAY NIGHT. A SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS IS FORECAST FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING OVER MUCH OF IOWA. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS LOOK TO BE THE MAIN THREAT. IN ADDITION, HEAVY RAIN IS POSSIBLE AND MAY CAUSE SOME LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING AND EVEN RIVER FLOODING.
