OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Omaha police officer has devoted hundreds of hours collecting letters, cards and drawings to honor another officer who was killed in the line of duty. The Omaha World Herald reports Officer Constance Garro created the large scrapbook and delivered it Thursday to Officer Kerrie Orozco’s mother in Walnut, Iowa.

Orozco was killed May 20, 2015, as she and other officers tried to arrest a suspect wanted in connection with a September 2014 shooting. The scrapbook’s cover includes hand-painted blue roses that resemble the flowers laid on Orozco’s casket. Dozens of officers contributed photos and stories about Orozco. Students from Omaha schools added photos featured in the first few pages.

Garro also included pages of medals, coins and letters from over 20 law enforcement agencies across the country.
