Iowa pounds Maryland 11-0

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Joel Booker had three hits, including a two-run double, and Robert Neustrom added three hits as Iowa beat Maryland 11-0 to advance to the Big Ten title game. Shane Ritter and Nick Gallagher combined to toss nine shutout innings for the eighth-seeded Hawkeyes (30-25), who are now just one win away from their first league tournament championship.

A pair of singles put Iowa ahead 3-0 in the fourth inning. Booker’s double made it 7-0, and he then scored on Austin Guzzo’s single. The Hawkeyes tacked on three more runs in the ninth inning. Nick Cieri had two hits for Maryland (30-27), which didn’t record an extra-base hit. Hunter Parson (2-3) took the loss for the Terrapins.
