Cass County Auditor Dale Sunderman reports voters in the CAM Community School District, Tuesday, approved  the extending of the current Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (or, PPEL), along with an increase in the levy rate of 67-cents per thousand dollars property valuation, to $1.34 per thousand. Public Measure A was approved by a vote of 131 “yes” to 94 “no” votes, or 58.222% of the vote.

District officials say they plan to use the funds to improve and maintain their current facilities, purchase school buses and purchase technology for students and staff. The levy cannot be used for staff salaries or supplies – those expenditures must come from a school district’s General Fund.

The results of the vote will be canvassed by the Cass County Board of Supervisors, Thursday, beginning at 1-p.m.
