The Big 10 Conference announced their weekly men’s basketball honors Monday afternoon and Iowa Senior Forward Jarod Uthoff has been named Big Ten Player of the Week along with Maryland Sophomore Guard Melo Trimble.

Uthoff averaged 29.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game versus Western Illinois and Iowa State.  For the week he shot 61.1 percent (22-of-36) from the field, 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from three-point range and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line.  Uthoff scored 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds in 23 minutes of action in the 90-56 victory over Western Illinois and then poured in a career-high 32 points, corralled nine rebounds and tallied four blocks in the 83-82 setback at Iowa State.  This is Uthoff’s second career Big Ten Play of the Week honor.
