THAYER – Authorities say a second body was found during an investigation into the death of a Thayer woman, Friday. Male suspect in both deaths arrested on two counts of 1st Degree murder.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa Supreme Court ruling could curb the ability of state police agencies to seize cash and property from motorists. The Des Moines Register reports that Friday’s 5-2 decision from the Iowa Supreme Court will limit the ability of state patrol troopers and deputies to conduct warrantless vehicle searches.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — The city of Davenport is considering at least one docking site other than one downtown supported by outgoing Mayor Bill Gluba for Viking River Cruises boats along the Mississippi River. The Quad-City Times reports that the city wanted a dock designed near the Centennial Bridge that connects downtown Davenport to Rock Island, Illinois. But Davenport landscape architect Zachary Peterson says cost and a possible environmental impact weighed into the city postponing the design phase in order to look elsewhere.

THAYER, Iowa (AP) — Iowa law enforcement officials have searched two homes in Thayer as part of the investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found in a pond earlier this week. Des Moines television station KCCI reports that Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation agents and Union County sheriff’s deputies searched the homes Friday.
