SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) ā€” A Sioux City man granted a new trial on sex abuse charges has again been found guilty of the crime. The Sioux City Journal reports a Woodbury County jury found 43-year-old Julius Turner guilty on Friday of two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of third-degree sexual abuse. A sentencing date has not been set.

Turner was granted a new trial in April after convincing an appeals court that his trial attorney was incompetent. He had been found guilty in 2011 of the same charges and sentenced to life in prison because he was a repeat offender. Court documents accuse Turner of sexually abusing three girls under 13 from 2008-2009. In 1992, he was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse and lascivious acts with a child.
