When the Iowa State football team takes the field for its season opener against UNI, the Cyclones will feel like they are playing in a brand new stadium. Work continues on a new addition to close the south end zone and when it is completed Jack Trice will become the third largest stadium in the Big 12 Conference.

ISU Coach Paul Rhodes says “The feel that I get every day driving up, is one of just sheer excitement, and it is a drastically changed stadium – and that’s empty. When we get it filled up on Sept. 5th against UNI, the support that will be generated that way as well as the reward to the Cyclone fans for something they’ve been wanting a long time, is finally going to come to fruition.”

Rhoads says work will be completed before the start of the season. He says he’s been promised 61,000 seats will be available for the season opener.
