WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT.

* CURRENT SYSTEM – SHORT TERM TRENDS…SNOW CONTINUES OVER EAST CENTRAL IOWA AND WILL REMAIN LIGHT IN INTENSITY THROUGH 6 AM. TRAVEL CONTINUES TO BE IMPACTED IN RURAL AREAS AS VISIBILITY RAPIDLY DROPS IN THE FALLING SNOW AND STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS. THE LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH OVER THE NEXT 3 HOURS ACROSS THE REGION BUT BLOWING SNOW WILL CONTINUE. STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED.
