The National Weather Service in Des Moines says our July 4th weekend will be stormy and becoming very humid and hot by Sunday. Sunshine should prevail most of the day, today (Friday), with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. Storms will begin to move into the area after 9 pm from the west. These storms will move eastward overnight, reaching the Des Moines metro a little before sunrise Saturday morning. A few of these storms may produce periods of heavy rain, so if you encounter possibly flooded roadways remember to turn around, don’t drown!
