A Council Bluffs man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a shooting at an apartment complex in mid-June. The Omaha World-Herald reports police arrested 21-year old Vaughn D. White, Saturday. After he was placed in handcuffs, White ran but officers who caught up with him were forced to use a stun gun to subdue the man. White faces attempted murder and, because of his actions Saturday, escape from custody charges. He’s accused of being involved in a June 14th shooting incident at 37 Bluff Street.

Authorities reports that around 3 p.m. that Saturday, officers were called to the apartment complex, where they found a 16-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. The girl told officers she was in a vehicle with two others when an unidentified man fired a handgun toward the vehicle. A bullet hit the girl, who was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital.

An investigation into the shooting led police to White and his subsequent arrest.
