Ryan Kramer ran the Boston Marathon and finished with a time of 2:50:02 today.  Kramer, the son of Allen and Sherry Kramer of Atlantic, is a 1997 Atlantic High School graduate who now lives in West Des Moines.  The 35 year old Kramer ran the marathon at a pace of 6:30 per mile and placed 913 among the thousands of men entered in the race.

Other local runners include Pete Crawford of Red Oak who finished with a time of 4:53:40 and Kim Moore of Treynor who finished in 4:45:50.

Men’s champion, Meb Keflezighi, became the first American man to win the marathon since 1983 as he finished with a time of 2:08:37.

Rita Jeptoo of Kenya became the seventh three-time Boston Marathon champion as she won the women’s championship with a time of 2:19:59.

Nearly 36,000 runners were entered in today’s marathon.
