ALTOONA, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa Transportation Department says it will take about a week to make repairs to a damaged bridge over Interstate 80 in Altoona. The Hubbell Avenue bridge was damaged Thursday morning when a truck towing a backhoe hit the structure. KCCI-TV reports repairs to the bridge should be finished in about a week.

Until then, transportation officials say westbound I-80 traffic will be restricted to the right lane to allow work on the bridge. Motorists should expect delays until the repairs are completed.
