A clothing store fire in Creston Friday morning was fought by 45 firefighters from six area fire departments for more than an hour before it was brought under control. According to the Creston News Advertiser, the four-alarm fire at “Maurices” at 808 Laurel St., was discovered at around 9- a.m. when the store manger arrived to open for business. The fire apparently started in a storage room, but the exact cause of the fire is unclear. There were no serious injuries, and a damage estimate was not available.
