19 dogs taken from a property in Neola

Authorities in Pottawattamie County say 19-dogs were seized from garage in Neola, Wednesday. According to the Daily NonPareil, Pott. County Animal Control officers took the dogs after a search warrant was served for the property. The dogs, which included 17 shih tzus and two other breeds, were in cages, but appeared to be in decent shape. Officials believe they are owned by a Kansas man. No charges have been filed against the unidentified owner, who has 10 days to appear before a judge to prove the animals belong to him and that he deserves to have them back. If the man does not appear in the next 10 days, the animals will be put up for adoption.
