KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Even with a Cy Young contender on the mound, the Chicago White Sox have dropped another game to their American League Central nemesis, the Kansas City Royals. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Royals second baseman Chris Getz is out for the season after an injury he sustained against his former team. Getz broke his left thumb last night during a bunt attempt against the Chicago White Sox. The Royals recalled second baseman Johnny Giavotella from Triple-A Omaha, where he was hitting .323 with 10 home runs.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs finally have their top receiver under contract after Dwayne Bowe signed his franchise tender. He’ll make about $9.5 million this year after the two sides failed to reach a long-term deal. It’s not known whether Bowe will attend the team’s preseason game against the St. Louis Rams today.
