DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama will speak at a charity lunch in Omaha on Tuesday. Obama is the featured speaker at Tuesday’s fundraiser for Girls Inc. After the lunch, Obama will speak at campaign events in Omaha and Des Moines, Iowa. Girls Inc. provides educational and recreational programs for girls.

RUDD, Iowa (AP) — The Floyd County attorney says a 17-year-old Mason City boy was shot to death at a house near Rudd in north-central Iowa. County Attorney Normand Klemesrud has identified the teen as Hunter True. He died Sunday. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Nearly every coach in the Big 12 will swear that spring practice shows just how far away their team is from playing a real game. For new Kansas coach Charlie Weis, it’s far from hyperbole. The Jayhawks have issues on both sides of the ball.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police have identified a suspect in an Iowa City bank robbery who fled the scene on a motorcycle and led authorities on a chase. No injuries were reported in yesterday’s robbery at a Hills Bank branch. Police say 34-year-old Eric Martin of Davenport faces several charges, including first-degree robbery.
