Griswold Boy’s Track Takes 4th at Treynor

Jared Schoning cruised to a victory in the 110 high hurdles at the Jerome Howe Relays on Monday night. Schoning broke the 16 second barrier for the first time this season with a time of 15.92. This was Schoning’s second gold in the high hurdles this season.  The senior also anchored the silver medal shuttle hurdle relay. Also running on the 2nd place shuttle hurdle squad were Jordan Vetter, Zak Doty, and Mason Anstey.
The Tigers finished 4th in the 14 team completion with 62 points, only 7 points out of second place.
In his first meet of the season, Zak Doty earned  silver in the high jump. The senior leaped 6 feet.
Also scoring for the Tigers were:
Taylor Briles, 3rd place, 100 meter dash;
4 x 100 meter relay team of Briles, Schoning, Kenneth Clary, and Jahnke, 3rd place;
4 X800 meter relay team of Vetter, Zach Vance, Holden Ogg, and Tanner Potter;
Chase Jahnke, 4th place in both the 200 and 400 meter dashes;
Tanner Potter, 4th place 400 meter hurdles;
Distance medley of Clary, Schoning, Jahnke, and Vance, 4th place;
4 x 200 meter relay team of Ethan Peck, Grant Haynes, Aaron Methany, and Clary, 6th place; and
Mason Boucher, 6th in Discus
“I was super pleased to have 13 boys score in a meet this size,” according to Coach Jane Chaillie. The Tigers will compete again on Thursday night at Clarinda.
